TownMall’s Forest of Beautiful Christmas Trees
November 25 – December 10

For two weeks at the end of November and into December, there is a forest of beautifully decorated Christmas Trees tucked away in far end of TownMall. Get into the holiday spirit after Thanksgiving by perusing the intricately decorated trees. Each tree is hand decorated with goodies and sold in a silent auction. Proceeds from the event benefit The Shepherd’s Staff, a Christian outreach and support center serving those in need in Carroll County. The event runs from Nov. 25 through Dec. 10 in Belk Court at TownMall of Westminster. Visit www.shepstaff.org for more information. 


Documentary Film Screening at the Carroll Arts Center presented by FLICC

Unwavering passion – whether it’s for music, cinema or food – is the common theme that ties together three inspiring documentary films that will be screened at the Carroll Arts Center in January, thanks to Film Lovers in Carroll County (FLICC).

  • Friday, January 20  Life Itself  A fascinating look at the life and career of renowned film critic and social commentator, Roger Ebert.  His tumultuous relationship with his partner Gene Siskel, his beautiful marriage and his courageous battle with cancer are all part of this powerful story. There will be two screenings of each film at 1:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. The 1 p.m. screenings will have open captioning to increase the enjoyment of movies at the Arts Center for those with hearing impairments. The 7:30 p.m. showings will have captioning if requested in advance. Assistive Listening Devices are always available. Tickets are $7 for Adults and $6 for CCAC Members, 18 & Under, Seniors 60+. In a year of election excitement it was time to play ball! On October 6, Carroll Magazine sponsored a fun-filled evening of softball where the Republicans (red) battled the Democrats (white). The Democrats defeated the Republicans in an exciting game with a score of 15–4.
