“Between Light and Shadow,” an exhibit inspired by the American painter Edward Hopper, will be on view at the Carroll Arts Center’s Tevis Gallery from April 22 through June 5.

Featuring works by contemporary artists who share Hopper’s style of mingling bright light with foreboding shadow, the show will be curated by Susan Williamson, the Arts Center’s visual arts coordinator.

A special reception for Arts Council members is scheduled for Thursday, April 22 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. The general public is invited to meet the artists from 6:30-7:30 the same evening.

Local artists whose work will be on exhibit include Charles Beck, Mt. Airy; Steven DeLuca and DiAnn Grimes, Westminster. Other artists include Patrick Kluga, Baltimore; Frank Smith, Baltimore; Willie Schlossbach, Queenstown, MD; and Nancy Tankersley, Easton, MD.

Gallery admission is free. The Carroll Arts Center is open 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, and from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. on Thursday.
