The Y of Central Maryland has expanded and renovated its facilities at 1719 Sykesville Road, which will be renamed the “Hill Family Center Y.” The expansion adds about 5,000 square feet to the existing 24,000 square-foot center. Improvements include more multi-purpose spaces, an expanded child play area and greater fitness space. At the same time, the Y is seeking a buyer for the former Westminster Inn on South Center Street, which it purchased from the Maryland School for the Blind in 2007.
