Anyone who strolled near Westminster’s Center Street on the last weekend in June had to wonder if they had stepped back in time. Re-enactors representing both the Union and Confederate sides relived the sights, sounds, smells and emotions of the Civil War. For the eighth year, the full-scale re-enactment honored the anniversary of the June 29, 1863 Battle of Westminster – Corbit’s Charge. The City of Westminster, the Corbit’s Charge Commemoration Committee, the Historical Society of Carroll County and the Pipe Creek Civil War Round Table organized the two-day event.
