Four award-winning foreign films are scheduled for every Friday in February when McDaniel College sponsors the ninth annual Film Lovers in Carroll County (FLICC ) Foreign Film Festival. The films will be screened at 7:30 p.m. at the Carroll Arts Center. Tickets are $6 for adults and $5 for CCAC members, students and seniors. McDaniel students and faculty are admitted free. Series tickets are $20 and $15. Screenings are as follows:

February 3
“In a Better World”
2010; Denmark; Rated R; 119 mins. A Danish doctor and his family work at an African refugee camp and are faced with difficult choices between revenge and forgiveness.

February 10
“The Age of Beauty”
1992; Spain; Rated R; 109 mins. A Spanish soldier deserts from the army in 1931. He becomes friends with a lonely old man who has four daughters. The soldier falls in love with all of them.

February 17
“The Owl and the Sparrow”
2007; Vietnam; Rated PG; 97 mins. Three lonely strangers form a unique family in modern day Saigon as a young orphan plays matchmaker to a zookeeper and a beautiful flight attendant.

February 24
“Seraphine”
2008; France; Unrated; 125 mins. Based on the life of French painter Seraphine de Senlis and the unlikely location of one of her paintings.
