This year’s workshop features presentations by experts from state agencies, environmental companies, Forestry Board members, and local practitioners covering diverse forestry topics including mid-Atlantic forest fires; stream, brook trout, and native plant restoration; the Maryland Big Tree Program; agroforestry; and truffle production. Attendees will be able to meet and socialize with speakers during breaks. Coffee, snacks, and handouts are included in the registration fee. Electronic presentations will be provided via wi-fi or a mobile hot-spot so attendees should bring a device with internet access such as a phone, iPad, or laptop computer. Instructions will be provided on the sign-up form. There will be a nature walk on remnant woods and Forest Conservation Act tree plantings in Watkins Park following the presentations. If severe weather is forecast, the workshop will be conducted online. Advanced online registration (http://www.carrollcountyforestryboard.com/) is $15 due by October 12, 2022. Walk-in registration, $20. The event is open to the public aged 16+. Attendees under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Vehicle entry to the park is from Route 27 (Ridge Rd) only.
