Bryan McDowell & Friends

Presented by Common Ground Downtown, a partnership between Common Ground on the Hill and the Carroll Arts Center. Fiddler, vocalist and master of stringed instruments, Bryan McDowell performed for 4 years with Claire Lynch and has since performed with bluegrass notables Sierra Hull, Alison Brown, Ron Block, & Molly Tuttle and many others from the realm of roots and acoustic music. His talents are featured on several recordings garnering IBMA awards, and one project receiving a Grammy nomination. He currently tours with Mark Schatz and others. Other accolades include Bryan’s triple win – a sweep of the fiddle, mandolin, and guitar categories – at the National Flatpicking Championship in ’09, and his 21 other instrument contest titles from ’09 & ’10.

Bryan will be joined by 2-time IBMA Bass Player of the Year Mark Schatz, IBMA Momentum Award winner Gaven Largent, mandolinist Maddie Witler, formerly of Della Mae, and Baltimore’s own Sam Guthridge on banjo.
