The parade will begin at Sykesville Middle School and wrap around Springfield Avenue to reach historic Main Street with a variety of floats and vehicles. After the parade, float awards will be announced and attendees can enjoy lunch and ice cream in the downtown area.

Fourth of July Celebration
Get ready to celebrate at Carroll County’s largest Fourth of July fireworks show. Event begins at 4 p.m. and will conclude at 10 p.m., with the fireworks display beginning at sunset. Art in the Park
The Carroll County Arts Council partners with the city of Westminster to present this annual outdoor cultural festival that is held the first Saturday in June on the beautiful grounds of Westminster City Hall. This event features fine art and craft displays by accomplished local and regional artists. Bring the kids for a free craft activity to inspire artists of the future. Food trucks and live music round out this family-friendly festival.

Juneteenth in Carroll County
Juneteenth commemorates African American freedom and emphasizes education and achievement. It is a day, a week, and in some areas, a month marked with celebrations, speakers, picnics and family gatherings. It is a time for reflection and rejoicing. It is a time for assessment, self-improvement and for planning the future. This year’s theme is “Not Just a Celebration”; the focus is on honoring the past, respect for families and opening doors of communication to help build a better Carroll County. 2023 Woofstock
A family-friendly event hosted by the Humane Society of Carroll County featuring Mid-Atlantic Venom Outlaws car show, food trucks, large craft/vendor fair, pet adoptions and rescues, petting zoo, bingo/games, children’s activities, animal demos, puppy yoga, beer and wine tastings (age 21 and over), and more. The event is dog-friendly but all dogs must be people- and dog-friendly and be on a leash. Free admission, but please note some of the activities are fee-based.

Living History and Civil War Encampment
“Citizen Meets Soldier” is a living history of 1863 in Carroll County. Commemorate the events of the hot summer of 1863, in the wake of the Second Invasion of the North. Walk in the footsteps of the citizens of Carroll County who were divided in their loyalties, and the Union and Confederate soldiers who camped along Big Pipe Creek at Union Mills in the days prior to Gettysburg. Entrance fee is $10 per car.
