The Westminster Volunteer Fire Department has a rich history in Carroll County. It was in 1823 that the Westminster Fire Engine and Hose Co. #1 was organized and the first firehouse constructed on Carroll Street. Kevin Dayhoff examines the major events in the history of the department leading up to its 200th Anniversary celebration.
