The League of Women Voters of Carroll County is hosting a celebration of Women’s Equality Day, established in 1973, to commemorate passage of the 19th Constitutional Amendment allowing women the right to vote. The evening will include a wine reception with hors d’oeuvres by The Chick, guest speaker Eileen Buckholtz, and a private screening of the movie Hidden Figures. Ms. Buckholtz, Director of the Queens of Code Project, and will share behind the scenes stories and important anecdotes of the women who served our nation in top secret roles at the NSA during the 1960s through 80s. These women had a pivotal role in our American history, created innovations in technology, and expanded women’s career opportunities for the generations that followed.
