Trio d’anches has selected 19th and early 20th century chamber music compositions for Oboe, Clarinet and Bassoon. Woodwind quintets were well known since the early 1800s, but the combination of a trio of reed instruments offered a new opportunity for composers to explore in the late 1800s. French, German, and English composers eagerly embraced this unique blend of tone colors in the bright oboe, the mellow clarinet, and deep bassoon voices.
Featuring David Duree (clarinet), Mindy Niles (oboe), and Robert Sirois (bassoon).
