Some of the county’s most generous givers gathered at The Carroll Hospital Center Foundation’s Founder’s Circle Dinner, April 3, at The Portico in Westminster.

The black tie-optional event, catered by Linwoods in Owings Mills, honored individuals who annually donate $1,000 or more, as well as businesses that give $2,500 or more to the hospital, Carroll Hospice or the hospital’s auxiliary.

Attendees dined on tenderloin and Chilean sea bass. The Eric Byrd Trio provided music. Because her name was drawn in a raffle, Linda Hutsell of Eldersburg left the celebration with the Sweetheart Award, a set of pearls with a heart-shaped clasp from Tiffany’s.

“We host this event every year to celebrate the hospital’s rich history and to show our appreciation to a community of givers,” said Ellen Finnerty Myers, the hospital center’s executive vice president for development. “The evening is our way to say thank you, and it is a lot of fun.”

The guest of honor for the evening was Melvin Mills, Jr. who received the Foundation’s 2009 Community Spirit Award.
