Carroll Singers Presents “Love Is in the Air”

The concert features a collection of heartwarming love songs from artists like Bruno Mars, Amy Grant, Billy Joel, Elton John, Carol King and more. Experience an evening of music celebrating not only romantic love, but also the love we have for our friends and family. The parade will begin at Sykesville Middle School and wrap around Springfield Avenue to reach historic Main Street with various floats and vehicles. After the parade, float awards will be announced, and attendees can enjoy lunch and ice cream in the downtown area.

Battle of Westminster: Corbit’s Charge

Each June, the Pipe Creek Civil War Roundtable and other historical groups commemorate the tragedy of the Civil War that took place on Westminster’s streets and within the surrounding Carroll County. The event features guided tours of the Corbit’s Charge sites, a memorial service, graveside memorial service, living history displays, historical artifacts, children activities and a music concert. The event is free to attend.

He received the 2013 Maryland Preservation Award for Excellence in Residential Rehabilitation from the Maryland Historic Trust for his renovation of Wilson’s Inheritance in Union Bridge. Civil War Encampment and Living History

Union Mills Homestead, Westminster

Experience the days surrounding Lee’s Second Invasion of the North, when small towns in Carroll County — including Union Mills — saw the movement of both Union and Confederate armies, supply wagons, stragglers and wounded soldiers. Explore encampments, the original structures that witnessed the days around Gettysburg and historic displays. The entrance fee is $10 per car.

History Fest

Formerly known as Sundae Scoop, this fun interactive history fair offers exhibitors and family-friendly activities, including the opportunity to dunk King George, Pat Martin’s delicious food and kids’ games. The Cow will once again provide ice cream. Representatives from many Carroll County historical societies and sites will attend, and guests may participate in a cake walk. The event is free to attend, but there will be a fee for food, drinks and the dunking of King George.

Carroll County 4-H & FFA Fair

This fair delivers fun for the whole family, with food, demonstrations, hot dog pig racing, farm truck racing, a cake auction, demolition derby and endless animals.

Old-Fashioned Corn Roast Festival

Union Mills Homestead, Westminster
11AM – 5PM

Enjoy an old-fashioned meal featuring corn roasted in the husk. The meal ticket includes fried chicken, applesauce, sliced tomatoes, a roll and butter, iced tea or lemonade, and all the roasted corn you can eat. As an outdoors event in the tradition of picnics and “frolics” held at the site in times gone by, the festival features live entertainment and site tours. Tickets sold on site at the event are $17 per person, $8 for guests 12 and younger for a child’s portion. Free parking and free admission to the grounds.
