The Carroll Lutheran Village Krug Chapel Auditorium will be turned into a 1920’s speakeasy on Friday, May 18, and Saturday, May 19, at 7 p.m. for “Hernando’s Deadly Hideaway” a dinner mystery performed by Wendy Olenik of Whodunnit for Hire and her cast, known as Maryland’s Traveling Murder Mystery Troupe. Guests will be asked to search for clues and interrogate suspects to solve the whodunnit.
“Suspects” who will be dressed as Flappers, Gangsters and Bootleggers, include: Joe Cimino as Tony ÔThe Nose’ Manzitti, the club’s manager and a hit man for the mob; Wilma Brown as Claire Voyant, the club’s cashier and the local high profile psychic; Fred Teeter as Blake Magnum, the club’s dealer and weapons dealer on the side; Audrey Cimino as Lulu D’Loca, the club’s chef and recently escaped mental patient; Pam Zappardino as Melody Keys, the club’s pianist, locally known as the Ôblack widow’; Dave Bollinger as Ned Nutter, the club’s maitre d’ and undertaker for the local morgue, and Kelly Heck as Josephine Starlet, the club’s bar maid who operates ÔElite Escorts.’
Tickets for the event are $40. Guests are encouraged to come dressed in 1920s gangsters or flappers attire. Proceeds from the event will be used to support the Village’s Health Care Center reinvention with supplemental funding provided by Thrivent Financial for Lutherans.
