CARROLL COUNTY ARTS COUNCIL SUMMER ARTS CAMP
All camps are held at the Carroll Arts Center in downtown Westminster. Explore all aspects of the arts, from theater to arts and crafts projects. Registration forms available at the Arts Council or on the website after March 1 or by phone, with credit card. Tuition assistance available through the Tom Holder Memorial Arts Scholarship Fund. Arts Adventures Ages 8-12, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. daily. Camp Director is Susan Williamson. Full day of arts and crafts and cultural activities. Campers will spend the week drawing, painting and crafting; visit local art galleries and try out handmade game crafts in local parks. $145/members; $160/non-members.

Fun Company Theatre Camp Ages 8-12. 10 a.m.-3 p.m. daily. Camp Director: Julie Herber, Maryland Ensemble Theatre. Activities pertain to all aspects of the theater, from making props and designing costumes to learning to use technical equipment with lights and microphones. Improv games and drama exercises will help prepare actors for the big show that will take place Friday night on the Art Center’s stage.

Creative Kids Camp Ages 5-8, 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Camp Director: Sandy Oxx. Campers enjoy sing-alongs, arts and crafts, drama games, special guests, movies and gallery activities. Popsicles, face-painting and walks to the park round out a week of fun, culminating in a performance for parents, as well as the “premiere” of the camp movie. A DVD is sent home with each camper.

CARROLL COUNTY FARM MUSEUM LIVING HISTORY CAMP
July 9-13, Grade 3; July 16-20, Grade 4; July 23-27, Grade 5. Children will experience some of the skills that were necessary for rural farm life 150 years ago.
